Is 9800 gtx+ compatible with my computer?

i have a asus 8500gt vc and it sucks, i'm looking to buy a nvidia 9800 gtx+ vc and it requires a pci-express 2.0 i know my vc is also pci-express but whats the difference with 2.0. is it possible for me to install this vc to my pc?
