TMJ!!! Please help me!!?
Make sure you go to the right dentist. We are not taught how to truly treat people with TMJ disorders in dental school. There is a small number of us who actively seek out the knowledge to help people like you. One of the biggest misconceptions is TMJ disorder is caused by grinding/clenching. It is caused by the misalignment of the teeth with the joint. Signs and symptoms of TMJD are wear on the teeth, headaches, neckaches, grinding, broken teeth, and others a trained dentist will recognize. I have helped TMJD patients with Bioesthetics. We help your body heal by allowing the jaw to go where it wants to go. Once the jaw is in a stable position the teeth are restored to this harmonious position for the jaw. Many people feel significant relief the first week of splint therapy. I left a link to an animation describing the nature of the problem. Good Luck!
